Barossa Valley Hockey Association - success at last!

February 13, 2012

Member for Schubert, Mr Ivan Venning is delighted with the news that at last the Barossa is going to get a synthetic turf hockey pitch.

“This project has been in the offing for over ten years, when the then Liberal Government was approached to provide funding for a synthetic pitch in the Barossa” said Mr Venning.

“Over many years the Barossa has supplied some of the State’s top hockey players, to both the South Australian and National competition, but they have always had to move away to train due to a lack of a synthetic turf pitch locally.

“Congratulations must go to the Barossa Valley Association - The work they have put in over many years has finally resulted in them achieving their goal.

“I also commend the Barossa Council for their support, both their financial and moral, as without this, the Association would not have had a chance at grant success.

“I look forward now to the progress of the construction and hope to be present when the first game is played on the Barossa’s own synthetic turf pitch” he said.

Countdown to election

until South Australians can make the
decision to put our state back on track.

South Australia deserves better.
